1st lesson "Where are you from?"

最初のレッスンは、オーストラリアから来た女性の先生が担当です。

Teacher

Maybe to begin with, you can do introduction. Tell me about yourself.

ということで、英語での自己紹介から始まりました。

ちなみにレッスン中は全て英語。なので「Tell me about youserlf.」と言われて固まってしまう人は、この英会話学校には向かないのではと思いました。

その後はテキストに沿って

• Where are you from?


• What city are you from?


• What nationality are you?


• What's your first name?


• What's your last name?


• What's your address?


• What's your phone number?

を学びました。

途中やり取りしている中で先生が教えてくれたのが

• Could you say that again?


• How could you spell that?

で、特に「Could you say that again?」がこの後非常に役立っていきます。

その他になんとなく印象に残ったのが

Shibainu

(WRONG) John and Maria meet first time.

Teacher

They are meeting for the first time.

Shibainu

(WRONG) They are introduce each other.

Teacher

They are introducing themselves to each other.

というやり取り。

取り敢えず英語で言ってみて、間違ってると直してくれます。
とにかく何でも言いたいこと言った方が、沢山直してもらえてこりゃいいなと思いました。

そんなこんなで一回目のレッスンは終了。
この日の晩に、外国から来た方と会う機会があったんですが、「Hi, I'm Shibainu. Nice to meet you!」とビビらず言えるようになったのが、一回目のレッスンの成果です。
