3rd lesson "What would you like?"

三時間目はレベルチェックをしてくれた先生が担当でした。

と、「初対面じゃないから meet you じゃなくて、see you」という無言の指摘を受けつつレッスン開始です。

「この週末は何してた？」という質問に英語で答えて、自由に会話していきます。

I watched a rugby match.

と、時制を間違えたところを直してくれたりします。

その後テキストにうつって

• What would you like?


• I'd like the chicken with rice.


• Would you like a drink?


• What kind of drink would you like?

を学びました。

その後は数字の読み方になって

• 123 = one hundred twenty-three


• 123,456 = one hundred twenty-three thousand four hundred fifty-six


• 789,321,654 = seven hundred eighty-nine million three hundred twenty-one thousand six hundred fifty-four

と、3桁ずつ区切って読めば良いことを学びます。

それから、二時間目に引き続き時刻の読み方をやりました。その中で

Oh for this case, "It is nine past nine." or "It is nine o nine."

と、10分より前の時間はゼロも読んだ方が良いと教わりました。
「英国では nine nine って言うかもね」とも言ってました。

あとは、やり取りの中で「義理の兄」のことを「brother-in-law」ということも教えてもらいました。
